My Bio

I'm proud to be a candidate for the Farmington Public Schools Board of Education. For more than 20 years, I have worked in education alongside students, families, teachers, and school leaders. I'm also the proud mother of three Farmington High School graduates. I know public education from both perspectives—as an educator and as a parent whose own children were shaped by Farmington Public Schools. I'm running because I believe every student deserves more than a seat in a classroom. They deserve the opportunity to achieve academically, feel safe and supported, and graduate prepared for a world that is changing rapidly. My priorities include strengthening student achievement, supporting student mental health and wellness, building stronger partnerships between families and our schools, and preparing students and educators to navigate emerging technology, including AI. I will bring educational experience, K–12 leadership preparation, and a commitment to accountability and transparency to every decision I make. Farmington Public Schools helped prepare my three children for their futures. I'm ready to use my experience to help ensure today's students are prepared for theirs.

My Key Issues

Education

Improve academic outcomes by examining where students are falling behind, using clear data to track progress, and supporting teachers with the resources they need.

Family engagement

Make communication with families more consistent and accessible so parents understand decisions, can raise concerns, and have meaningful opportunities to participate.

Mental Health

I believe students succeed when they feel safe, supported, and emotionally well. Prioritizing social-emotional wellbeing ensures our schools create environments where every student can focus, grow, and reach their full potential.

Responsible AI Use in Farmington Public Schools

Establish clear guidance for how students and staff may use artificial intelligence in learning and schoolwork. The policy should protect student data, teach students to check AI-generated information, and define when AI assistance is appropriate and when students must demonstrate their own understanding. Teachers should receive training and have a voice in how the guidance is put into practice.
